Melt-Proof Makeup Ideas

June has arrived! That means our weekends will be spent relaxing on the lake, enjoying dinner on the patio, and partying down at Summerfest. Along with all this comes hot weather! Now, we all know that women don’t sweat, they “glisten.” With summer upon us, here are 10 tips to “glisten” proof your look:

We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again: “It’s a crime not to prime!” Primer is the key to keeping makeup fresh and long wearing. Use primers for eyes, foundation, lashes and lips. Yes, it sounds like an extra step, but you won’t have to touch your makeup the rest of the day.

  • Try a waterproof concealer for the summer. Cover up gives fabulous coverage, is a little more dense and completely waterproof.

  • Switch to a silicone based foundation, like Lasting Foundation. Silicone acts as a film between your skin and humidity, preventing foundation from melting and makes it completely transfer resistant against those white collars! Lasting Foundation also dries to a completely matte finish, so it's perfect to help control some of that unevitable shine

  • Lasting Cream Eyeliner is the safest bet for summer. It takes a bit of practice and patience when switching from the creamy eyeliners, but you’ll love the definition and long wear. Try thinking of the brush as your pencil to make the transition easier.

  • Our Lash Lift Waterproof Mascara is a must! Give it a try with the Mascara Primer underneath for extra length and volume and color that won't fade away.

  • Try a perspiration proof powder, like our top-selling Ultra Powder Foundation, to set your makeup and touch up with if necessary. This foundation can be worn on it's own, too!

  • Ask your beauty consultant for a summer skin analysis: most people need to switch the cleanser, toner and moisturizer for the summer.

  • Lock your makeup in place with a finishing spray, which will form a microscopic, mesh like barrier against humidity and heat. Our Expert Touch Finishing Spray is a great choice!
